How often should commercial dryer vents be cleaned?
Far more often than residential. Facilities running dryers continuously — hotels, senior living, laundries, salons, veterinary practices — typically need quarterly to semi-annual cleaning, and high-volume operations sometimes need it more frequently than that. The interval is driven by run hours, duct length and configuration, not by the calendar. Restricted commercial exhaust is both a fire risk and a direct operating cost, because restricted dryers run longer cycles and fail sooner.

A restricted exhaust duct makes every cycle longer. Across a facility running dryers all day, that is measurable energy cost, measurable throughput loss, and accelerated wear on equipment you would rather not replace. Shared and long duct runs
Commercial installations frequently have long horizontal runs, multiple elbows, shared manifolds or booster fans. Each of those increases resistance and gives lint somewhere to pack. Shared manifolds serving several dryers are a particularly common failure point and need the whole manifold cleaned, not the individual branches.

We have a shared exhaust manifold. Is that a problem?
